Portrait Painting

3-part Workshop on Wednesdays,
Mar 27th, May 4th, May 11th

This is a 3-part workshop in which all abilities are welcome, whether beginner or experienced. You will be given guidance if needed, or you can use the time to practice skills in a relaxed environment. 

Alice is an experienced artist and art teacher with skills in portrait drawing and painting and has completed many portrait commissions. She can offer advice on essential techniques such as scale and proportion, through to creating realism and likeness. 

During this course you will have the chance to paint from life over 3 sessions, developing your technique and creating a finished portrait in your painting medium of choice.

Booking is essential so please book early to avoid disappointment. 

What you need:

- Canvas, primed board, or paper to work on

- Pencils, erasers, oil, acrylic or watercolour paints, mixing mediums.

- Brushes, palette knife or other painting tools

- Board or easel to lean on (1 or 2 will be available if needed, but please check to reserve the use of these prior to the class.

- A camera or phone to record, add filters or use closeups.

- Water pots and palettes will be available.
